- 1668 – The first champagne wine appears in the province of Champagne, France. Monk Pierre Perignon lays the foundation of modern sparkling wine;
- 1799 – The first appearance of Russian sparkling wines in Crimea. Production of «Ai-Danil» sparkling wine launched at a plant belonging to Prince Vorontsov;
- 1890 – Production of domestic sparkling wine is established by Prince Golitsyn – The founder of «Russian Champagne»;
- 1928 – The «Soviet Champagne» trademark created with the support of the Council of National Economy;
- 1969 – Export of first Russian sparkling wine to the West.
